A rare chance to hear Eric do his thing with a stellar band!
It's finally going to happen, in an outdoor afternoon concert -- a rare chance to see (and hear!) Eric do his thing!!!
Eric Thompson’s Kleptograss Revival “borrows" tunes from many different styles, playing them with a bit of Bluegrass attitude. For this show, Eric joins forces with longtime cohort Alan Senauke on guitar, Paul Kotapish (Wake the Dead) on mandolin, and Chuck Ervin (Sons of the Pioneers) on bass, for an evening of “borrowed” music: old-timey string band styles, Blues, Irish, and Cajun traditions, plus a few tunes from Greece and Latin America. Eric Thompson has been a renowned guitar phenom for nearly 60 years, harking back to his "Before the Dead” and Dawg days as a teenage Bluegrass nut in the early ‘60s. Over the years he has delved deep into many styles of roots music; as they say, “You can take the boy out of Bluegrass, but you can’t take the Bluegrass out of the boy.” For this show, Eric will be showing off his shiny new toy, a German silver National Resonator guitar, and he’ll also bust out his 10-stringed Puerto Rican cuatro (which you can see in the above photo - L to R: Alan Senauke, Paul Kotapish, Eric Thompson
, Chuck Ervin.
