Eric and Suzy are excited to be playing a couple of Bay Area shows with Johnny Nicholas! Suzy got to know Johnny when they were both part of Geoff Muldaur’s “Texas Sheiks” project (along with Stephen Bruton, Cindy Cashdollar and several other stellar Austin-area musicians). He’s now splitting his time between Fredericksburg Texas and southwest Louisiana, where Eric and Suzy and Johnny spent some time playing music together at the Black Pot Camp and Festival last fall. Johnny is one of the most soulful singers ever, and plays resonator guitar, harmonica, piano, mandolin and probably a bunch of other instruments, he’ll definitely have the resonator guitar on hand. He and Eric will have just spent a week at Lark Camp playing their resonator guitars, so they’ll be all warmed up, and Suzy will have come straight from Blues Week in Port Townsend so it should be a terrific reunion. We’ll play some blues, some of Johnny;s originals, and, at the Ashkenaz dance, we’ll add some Cajun music to the mix. This is a rare opportunity to hear Johnny Nicholas live in the Bay Area!
