The California Cajun Orchestra is available in two different formats:
1. The CALIFORNIA CAJUN TRIO consists of the 3 core members of the group, Danny Poullard on accordion, Suzy Thompson on fiddle, and Eric Thompson on acoustic guitar. The trio has played at folk festivals, dances and parties, and in situations where the larger (and louder) group may not be appropriate (for example where there is no electricity available!). A second fiddler may be added to this acoustic ensemble.
2. The full-scale CALIFORNIA CAJUN ORCHESTRA is a 4-piece band, consisting of accordion, fiddle, electric guitar, and drums. This may be augmented by a bass player, a second fiddle player and/or rubboard player.
The California Cajuns can supply a dance instructor to give a short dance lesson preceding the band's performance. This lesson is fun, informal, and really helps to get listeners involved in the music! There is an additional fee for this service. If interested, please inquire about the availability of a dance instructor. We highly recommend this method of encouraging audience participation!!
